Understanding Economic Abuse

What is it all about?

This course looks at the historical and social context of economic inequality and abuse within the wider discourse of violence against women, domestic abuse, and sexual violence (VAWDASV).

Economic abuse disproportionately impacts women and girls both during and long after an abusive relationship has ended. It affects their ability to work, to access education and legal services, and has potential long-term implications on credit worthiness which ultimately impacts on their ability to be autonomous in exercising their rights within our society.
