What is it all about?

Welsh Women’s Aid and Respect have developed a fully integrated, two-day training course for professionals working in Wales who would like to increase their knowledge and skills to better recognise the signs of violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence, respond appropriately to disclosures, and refer survivors and perpetrators to specialist support services.

Trusted Professional is part of Change That Lasts, a new strengths-based, needs-led approach that supports survivors of all forms of violence against women, and their children, to build resilience, and leads to independence. For more information about Change That Lasts, click here.

  • Recognise the early signs of VAWDASV.
  • Respond appropriately and know what to do.

What is it all about?

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding the role of a children and young people’s trusted professional.
  • Recognising the multiple forms of violence against women, gender-based violence, domestic abuse and sexual violence that young
    people may experience.
  • Responding more effectively to children and young people who have been abused and who have harmed others, using needs led, strengths based, trauma informed support.
  • Understanding the practical application of needs-led, strengths-based, trauma-informed and intersectional theory in your setting.
