What is it all about?
This course has been developed to raise awareness of the issues faced by children and young people experiencing VAWDASV related issues. Practitioners will explore the behavioural, emotional and cognitive effects for children experiencing VAWDASV and how to tailor support to ensure that children and young people ways receive tailored support.
The course also the nature and dynamics of VAWDASV and how it can be experienced by children and young people as well as the theoretical support models for supporting children and how practitioners can create environments to foster disclosure and respond appropriately.

Professionals across a range of sectors who have regular contact with children and young people.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand how violence against women, domestic abuse, and sexual violence (VAWDASV) can be experienced by children and young people.
- Understand how to support children and young people in relation to disclosure.
- Understand how services support the needs of children and young people affected by domestic abuse and sexual violence.
Learners will be expected to complete the following:
- Pre-course e-learning training,
- A half-day live webinar on Teams or Zoom,
- Post-course activities.
This course is accredited by The CPD Certification Service and further accreditation is available at Level 3 through Agored Cymru.
