What is it all about?
A discussion based course, designed for specialist support workers, looking at what is meant by confidentiality, its purpose and benefits, relative legislation, and how to best monitor and manage, as individuals and as an organisation.
The course analyses in detail the concept of consent when sharing information, circumstances that require breaking confidentiality, and how best to share information as required by law. It also explores the concept of keeping professional boundaries, how best to set them, their benefits to service users, individual support workers and their organisation, and how best to manage breaches of boundaries.
