Data Protection and Domestic Abuse

What is it all about?

Holding perpetrator information or child information when a perpetrator is the parent can create challenges for member services. There are significant concerns that the perpetrator has the right to access information held via a data subject access request, and members are unsure of how to address this issue. The training is developed alongside external experts.

Who would find it useful?

VAWDASV practitioners.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the legal requirements of any data subject access request.
  • Understand good practice around record-keeping e.g., when, and how data should be recorded and what sort of data should/can be held about children or perpetrators to assure the safety of women and children.
